N200|GES at Event Tech Live 2016

What happens when supplier turns exhibitor? At Event Tech Live, we straddled two sides of the exhibiting pyramid.

In one day, we turned event partner/supplier/exhibitor/sponsor/speaker for Event Tech Live 2016. 80 exhibitors, over 1,260 visitors and all the latest tech packed into the Truman Brewery. As event partners we hosted the registration, gave every exhibitor access to lead retrieval, empowered AMP to utilise our Visit Intelligence dashboard and then as exhibitor, we utilised the opportunity to show different ways of how an exhibitor can create engagement at an event.

Our resident Engagement Technology Architect, Matt Coyne, took to the stage alongside ExhibitorSmarts and Reed &Mackay to discuss ‘If it isn’t broken does it need to be fixed’. The session was a relaxed panel session drawing lots of questions from the audience with key topics including; the industry needs to evolve from looking purely at its next 12-month event cycle. Organisers need to be efficient at adopting & investing in technologies for the future, not just to gain the wow factor today, but to look at tools that will help them monitor, measure & engage better with their customers for the future. We will quickly be left behind other mediums as ways of getting products / services to market. Suppliers also need to engage earlier with organisers to ensure they’re product is fit for purpose & that the organiser truly understands how to deploy the tech. Data should be leading the conversation on whether to implement or not. You can see the full session here.

We were delighted to sponsor & support the Launchpad area, giving new tech to the market an opportunity to demo to attendees of the event as well as the option to present their offering on the pitch stage. What3Words won the ultimate launch support prize of an exhibiting package with Event Tech Live 2017, an advertising package with Event Industry News and the Event Tech Buyers Guide, business support from N200|GES and Event Tech Lab membership.

Our stand showcased different ways that attendees and exhibitors can harness the technology offering from GES to create engagement across a variety of aspects of live event experiences. Our Blitz powered game invited attendees to see whether they were #TechChic or #TechGeek. With more than 20% of attendees taking part it was close, but in the end the TechChic title won with 58% of players being more Chic than Geek! The categories were also closely matched with 60% of those formally bequeathed the #TechGeek title men. When a delegate finished their game, a picture was taken, using our lead capture tool Visit Connect and they were instantly shared socially, to engage audiences around the event.

“Being a supplier to the industry, there is a certain anticipation in seeing what we can do when we turn our hand to exhibiting” said Matt Coyne, engagement technology architect for GES. “As long term partners to Event Tech Live, which we see as a vital space for anyone to be at in the #eventtech sector, we like to support Adam, Paul and the team at AMP at wherever possible. The show was a great success for us and it would appear for other exhibitors as well, capturing 32% more leads through Visit Connect than in previous years.”

Head of Development, Reinder Meijer, attended the event for the first time. “It’s fantastic to see the range of tech developed specifically for our industry. The pitch battles were really encouraging. It was an honour to be able to support such new tech in its infancy and I am looking forward to seeing exactly how these new offerings impact our industry!”

Adam Parry, A.M.P. Events Limited added, N200|GES work so closely with us it’s as if they are part of our team, they go beyond simply supplying software and technology and work with us more as advisors. From top to bottom N200|GES cover off every angle and every eventuality which for the past 3 years has ensured that registration and attendees arriving at the show goes without a hitch.
